Winter Recreation for Washoe Youth

Project Partners: Tahoe Backcountry Alliance

Funds Granted: $35,000

Snowshoeing and cross country skiing are popular winter recreation activities in Tahoe. But due to the high cost of equipment, not all people are able to participate in these experiences.

That’s why the Tahoe Fund partnered with Tahoe Backcountry Alliance (TBA) to provide new equipment, like backcountry skis, snowshoes, and other gear, for winter recreation programs with Washoe youth. Now, young people from the tribe are able to participate in these guided experiences through TBA and enjoy all that winter in Tahoe has to offer!
