Tahoe’s Nature for All Program

Project Partners: Tahoe Institute for Natural Science, The Courage Project, Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, Sierra Community House, Incline Elementary School

Funds Granted: $20,885

Exploring nature in Lake Tahoe is an outstanding way to foster wellness and community. Not all communities have access to the same opportunities to learn about Tahoe’s history or explore the natural experiences that surround them.

Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS)  is a non-profit organization that seeks to advance Tahoe’s history, ecosystem, and conservation through hands-on learning experiences and research. TINS Tahoe’s Nature for All program offers free nature experiences, like fields and camps, for underserved communities, including people experiencing anxiety and depression, survivors of abuse, and families that might not generally have access to nature for a variety of reasons.

With help from partners like The Courage Project, Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, Sierra Community House, and Incline Elementary School, Tahoe’s Nature for All program helps expand knowledge and stewardship of Lake Tahoe’s environment to community members of different social and economic backgrounds,  while also promoting healthy living and well-being.
