The 16th Annual Lake Tahoe Summit, hosted this year by Senator Dean Heller and sponsored again by the Tahoe Fund, was held on Monday, August 13, 2012, at Edgewood Tahoe.
The theme for this year’s Summit was “Public-Private Partnerships – Investing in the Future of Lake Tahoe”.
Since the first Presidential Forum in 1997, a diverse group of stakeholders has gathered annually to celebrate the exquisite beauty of Lake Tahoe and focus on future needs. Partnerships between the public sectors and private businesses have increased and are essential to continuing the outstanding work and progress that has been accomplished in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
This year’s Summit was attended by Governors Brian Sandoval of Nevada and Jerry Brown of California, and U.S. Senators Heller and Dianne Feinstein. Tahoe Fund board member, Allen Biaggi educated the audience of more than 600 about the Tahoe Fund and invited them to heed Senator Feinstein’s request to support public efforts with private funding through donations to the Tahoe Fund to provide funding for critical environmental improvement projects in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
