Elk Point Marina Bubble Curtain

Aquatic invasive species (AIS) can wreak havoc on local ecosystems. To combat that threat, the Elk Point Marina is working with Tahoe agencies and organizations to install a bubble curtain in their marina to help prevent the entrance of aquatic invasive weeds into their currently weed-free marina.

This same bubble curtain was used at the Tahoe Keys to successfully keep weeds from leaving their community and entering into Lake Tahoe. If successful, this is a new technique that can be used throughout the Tahoe Basin at other marinas once they are free of aquatic invasive weeds.
