Blackwood Canyon Wildfire Camera

Project Partners: Tahoe Prosperity Center
Fundraising Goal: $30,000
Right now, a blindspot exists in the wildfire camera detection network in Blackwood Canyon, a high-risk area for wildfires.
Early detection is the key to stopping small fires before they become catastrophic. Over 100 Tahoe area fires have been stopped before reaching one acre thanks to the existing ALERT Wildfire camera network.
The Tahoe Fund, in partnership with Tahoe Prosperity Center, is raising $30,000 to install an ALERT Wildfire camera on USFS lands in Blackwood Canyon and to support the ALERT Tahoe Wildfire Camera Network around the Lake. This camera will close the detection gap on the West Shore and across the water in Incline Village, expanding coverage where it is urgently needed to protect lives and property.
Give today and help protect our forests, homes, and first responders!
