2014 Lake Tahoe Summit
Drought, Wildfire and Invasive Species: Confronting the Effects of Climate Change on Lake Tahoe
Please join us for the 18th annual Lake Tahoe Summit. This year we will gather on Tuesday, August 19th at the Valhalla Estate in South Lake Tahoe. Registration will begin at 9:00 am and the main program at 10 am. Our theme and focus this year will be “Drought, Wildfire, and Invasive Species: Confronting the Effects of Climate Change on Lake Tahoe.”
Since the Presidential Forum in 1997, the annual Lake Tahoe Summit has become an important yearly gathering of federal, state, and local leaders dedicated to the goal of restoring and sustaining Lake Tahoe as one of our most precious environmental treasures.
There is no on-site parking, so please plan to use the shuttle parking areas at South Lake Tahoe High School and the Sno-Park just north of Valhalla. The shuttles will begin running from the parking areas at 8:30am. We also encourage you to ride your bike to the Summit. There will be a bicycle valet service, courtesy of the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition.
The Summit is once again outside, so please dress appropriately for a summer morning on the South Shore.
The event is free and open to the public.
