Conservation Projects

The Tahoe Fund supports projects that restore stream zones, enhance forest health, fish and wildlife habitat, and improve water quality in the Tahoe Basin. The past century’s development of Tahoe as a destination resort caused enormous damage to the environment, including Tahoe’s renowned water clarity.

The Upper Truckee Watershed is the largest watershed in the Lake Tahoe Basin, draining over 54 square miles of land.  It is also the most heavily developed watershed and has experienced severe degradation. Read more...

Research has determined that the Third Creek watershed (which encompasses Rosewood Creek) is the fifth highest contributor of fine sediment to Lake Tahoe and the largest contributor on the Nevada side of the Lake Tahoe Basin.  Read more...
