Tahoe Fund Awards $131,000 in Grants to 2013 Signature Projects
The Tahoe Fund presented checks totaling $131,000 to the recipients of its 2013 Signature Projects in front of a large crowd of supporters on Tuesday. Tahoe Fund donors provided funding that will allow completion of four environmental improvement projects that address erosion control, beach improvements, bike paths and the removal of invasive Asian clams.  Read more...

Incline Village To Sand Harbor Bike Path Close To Reality
July 3, 2014 (Incline Village, Nev.) – The dream of a dedicated bike path along the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe moved one step closer to reality with a vote by the Tahoe Fund board of directors to launch a new campaign to raise $750,000 for the trail. The private money raised by the Tahoe Fund would help the Tahoe Transportation District secure $12.5 million in public funding for the new bike path from Incline Village south to Sand Harbor on the lake’s northeast corner. Read more...

Tahoe Beaches App Is Ready For Summer
LAKE TAHOE, Calif. and Nev. – June 19, 2014 – The summer season is here and more people than ever are expected to visit the shores of Lake Tahoe to find respite from the hot temperatures and dry conditions in the region. The Tahoe Fund is once again promoting the Tahoe Beaches App to help beach-goers find their way to more than 50 public beaches around the Lake. The App is also built to help spread out the crowds and provide an opportunity for people to discover new beaches while learning ways to care for Lake Tahoe.  Read more...

MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa Donates $18,116 in Green Bucks to Tahoe Fund
South Lake Resort’s customers support Tahoe through dollar donations on hotel rooms LAKE TAHOE Calif. and Nev. – May 27, 2014 – MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa presented a check for $18,116 to the Tahoe Fund donation program called Green Bucks in front of the iconic entranceway to the South Lake Tahoe location. The check is courtesy of donations from guests at MontBleu who added a dollar donation onto their room nights. MontBleu joins other Green Bucks businesses from around the region, including Edgewood Tahoe, Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel, and the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, who are helping to support the Tahoe Fund’s mission to restore and enhance the Lake Tahoe environment. Read more...

Katy Simon Joins Tahoe Fund Board of Directors
The Tahoe Fund today announced the election of Katy Simon to its board of directors. Simon recently retired from a distinguished career in public service, most recently as the Washoe County Manager, a position she held for 15 years. She has a deep connection to Lake Tahoe, starting with her first job at the Northstar ski resort more than 30 years ago. Read more...

Tahoe Fund Seeks Corporate Sponsors
LAKE TAHOE, Calif. and Nev. – May 15th, 2014 – The Tahoe Fund is seeking corporate sponsors for the four aquatic invasive species watercraft inspection stations located around the Basin that inspect approximately 8,000 boats a summer. The stations are a critical component of a nationally recognized basin-wide effort to prevent the spread and introduction of aquatic invasive species (AIS) into Lake Tahoe that have wreaked havoc on other clear lakes around the nation. Read more...

Tahoe License Plate for Powder Program To Benefit from Snow Forecast
The snow forcast to hit the Lake Tahoe region during the next few days is expected to give the Tahoe Fund’s Plate for Powder program a boost along with Sierra ski resorts and businesses. Drivers who purchase a California or Nevada Tahoe vehicle license plate will receive two free ski lift or Nordic tickets to the resort of their choice. Tahoe Fund Recruiting Founding CEO
The non-profit Tahoe Fund has engaged Olive Grove Consulting of Belmont, CA to conduct a search for the Fund’s founding Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Over the next 10 years the CEO will be responsible for raising and distributing $50 million to restore and enhance the Lake, including work on bike trails, restoration projects, interpretive programs, public parks and related projects.
