Events and Communications Director
The Events and Communications Director role will lead all event and communications efforts for the Tahoe Fund, reporting directly to the CEO. The goal of this position is to connect more people with the mission of the Tahoe Fund, ultimately resulting in greater support of Tahoe Fund initiatives.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced and lean environment, and have no problem rolling up their sleeves to get the job done. This position will interact with Tahoe Fund staff, donors, volunteers and members of the board of directors. Interpersonal communications skills are critical.
This position will primarily work out of the Tahoe Fund office space in the Donald W. Reynolds Center in Incline Village, NV, but will require travel around the Tahoe Basin and to the Bay Area and Sacramento. This is a full-time position that includes paid time off, health insurance reimbursement, phone reimbursement and a Simple IRA plan. Compensation based on experience.
Specific focus areas of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage and execute the annual Founders Circle Dinner
Organize and lead a series of intimate gatherings around Tahoe, Northern California and Northern Nevada
Develop and support a local event marketing plan
Oversee the development of all marketing materials for the organization, including project specific materials
Develop PR strategies and execute PR plan, including writing and pitching press releases and media relations
Ownership of the Tahoe Fund website and management of the web consultant
Ownership of Tahoe Fund’s social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, etc
Ownership of the Annual Report, working with design consultant
Ownership of annual appeal, developing target lists, segmenting donor lists, developing ask, managing designer and printer
Corporate Sponsorships/Green Bucks
Manage the $1 for Tahoe/Green Bucks program with an eye on retention and new business partner acquisition
Develop a corporate sponsorship program and pitch corporations for their support
Take Care Program Manager
Act as the Tahoe Fund’s main point of contact for the Lake Tahoe Outreach Committee
Coordinate weekly Take Care status meetings with other members of the Lake Tahoe Outreach Committee
Manage relationship with Take Care creative team
Manage Vail EpicPromise Grant sign program
Support Take Care campaign with PR efforts
Manage Take Care budget
Write and manage grants as needed
Plates for Powder
Work with SDBX and NLTRA to execute annual Plates for Powder promotion
Manage relationships with ski resort partners
Support Plates for Powder with marketing and PR
